Before and after illustration of streetscape improvements include narrowing roadway to 24 feet for traffic calming, porous pavement in the parking lanes to reduce impervious area, and landscape to encourage infiltration.
Parks & Gardens provided landscape architecture and graphic assistance to Short Elliot Hendrickson, Inc., engineers to create Low Impact Development (LID) concepts for the State Fairgrounds and an adjacent neighborhood in the City of Pueblo. The illustrations were used in conjunction with a report describing proposed alternatives for the area. A cost estimate for the proposed improvements demonstrated the potential savings of implementing the proposed LID concepts as compared to an upgraded storm system.
