| The new pump station at Blackstone was constructed to support Aurora’s continuing development of water resources. Paired with an existing tank infrastructure and located within a neighborhood park, the project references an established civic architectural style as it recedes into a residential context.
Parks & Gardens collaborated with Integra Engineering and Lintjer + Haywood Architects to provide a landscape design that screens the facility, complements the existing park and references the native landscape of adjacent open space and rolling prairie.
Plantings located along two major drainage swales will receive supplemental irrigation by rainwater.
