| Parks &
Gardens was recently contracted to study access alternatives
for a 50+ acre site that is tucked into the edge of Thorpe
Mountain. New access and site improvements would have significant
cut/fill requirements and also have a substantial impact
on existing vegetation. The following issues were addressed:
- Implications of new road beds and drainage for the existing
road alignment
- Implications of cut/fill, drainage and vegetation loss for
alternative alignments
- Relationship between primary residential entrance, breezeway,
garage, barns and potential second residence
- Site drainage including snow removal patterns and snow
storage
- Guest drop off and parking
- Patios, gardens and spa access
- View corridors
